  6. WHAT AMIGAS ICON DELUXE WORKS ON:
  7.    Icon Deluxe now works on all Amigas and all OS versions from 2.04 up.

  24. INSTALLATION:
  25.    IconDeluxe can be installed using the install icon.  However, you must
  26. have Commodore's Install utility for the script to work.
  27.  
  28.    If you don't have the Install utility, you can still install Icon Deluxe
  29. by placing the files IconDeluxe and IconDeluxe.guide wherever you want them
  30. (I recommend SYS:Tools).
  31.    You must have AmigaGuide or MultiView for online help to work.  If not,
  32. you can open a shell and type:

  34. MakeLink SYS:Utilities/AmigaGuide C:More
  35.  
  36. or replace C:More with your favorite text viewer.  If you do this, you'll
  37. probably want to use a text editor to strip out the AmigaGuide
  38. instructions.  I could've done it myself, but most people have AmigaGuide,
  39. and I didn't want to increase the distribution archive size.  If you don't
  40. feel like doing it, and need the text version, just say so in your
  41. registration and I'll put the plain text docs on your disk.

  45. COPYRIGHT:
  46.    The registered version is copyrighted and may not be distributed, so
  47. please do not allow it to be pirated.  Ten dollars isn't much, so anybody
  48. who wants or uses it can afford it.  If you use Icon Deluxe, please
  49. register and encourage me to write more cheap but high-quality Amiga
  50. software.  I enjoy doing it!
  51.    The public version is freely distributable, but modification of the
  52. program or distribution of any modified version is strictly prohibited and
  53. constitutes a violation of the copyright.
  54.    The public version used to be full-featured and was not "cripple-ware,"
  55. but I found out that someone had cracked it to remove the save delay, and
  56. distributed it.  I was only asking $10 to start with, and I never thought
  57. that anybody could be that cheap!  Because of this, I crippled the public
  58. version in a fit of rage, so it could no longer save.  I hate crippled
  59. demos and didn't want to do this.  That's why I put the save delay in the
  60. first place: I wanted this program to be available to everybody so that
  61. people who like the program but don't want to spend $10 can use it, but
  62. have to live with the delay.  Those who do register can enjoy the program
  63. without the delay.
  64.    After much thought, I decided to make the public version able to save
  65. again.  Please do the right thing and if you like Icon Deluxe, register.

  69. REGISTERING ICON DELUXE:
  70.   If you like Icon Deluxe, then you can reward me for the hundreds of hours
  71. I spent writing it by sending a small contribution of $10 (or equivalent in
  72. other currencies), to cover the cost of floppies and postage for two or
  73. three mailings and so I can get a little something back for all my work.
  74. If you have done so already, I would like to express my thanks to you, as
  75. that $10 fed me for a week.  If you have not registered, think of all the
  76. time I spent writing this for you, and how nice it would be to help out a
  77. poor student who's struggling to get by.  In return, I will send you the
  78. registered version of Icon Deluxe, which does not open the about window at
  79. startup as does the public version.  I'll also send updates to all
  80. registered users for bug fixes and added features.  For bug reports or
